Assessment & Court Report Services

Our core services address the most critical stages of child care proceedings and family law matters.

We provide comprehensive parenting assessments that evaluate a parent or carer’s capacity to meet the needs of their child. Using established assessment frameworks, we explore strengths, risks, and protective factors, producing clear, analytical recommendations to support court and local authority decision-making.

Key Features
  • Strengths and risk analysis
  • Evidence-based methodology
  • Court-ready recommendations
  • Family-centred approach

Contact assessments examine the quality and impact of contact between children and significant family members. We assess attachment, child wellbeing, and relational dynamics to produce clear, evidence-based conclusions on the appropriateness of contact arrangements.

Key Features
  • Attachment and relationship analysis
  • Child needs and welfare focus
  • Observation-informed reports
  • Safe contact recommendations

Our pre-birth assessments are completed ahead of a child’s birth where there are known risks or safeguarding concerns. We work with expectant parents and professionals to evaluate risk, assess capacity, and support robust planning to ensure the child’s welfare from the outset.

  • Pre-birth risk identification
  • Safeguarding planning
  • Parental capacity evaluation
  • Multi-agency coordination support

Commissioned by the court under Section 7 of the Children Act 1989, these reports address child arrangements where parents are unable to agree. We provide rigorous, analytical, and balanced assessments that prioritise the child’s welfare and are defensible to judicial scrutiny.

Key Features
  • Child arrangements analysis
  • Independent expert perspective
  • Legally defensible conclusions
  • CAFCASS-compliant format

Section 37 reports are directed by the court to assess whether a Care or Supervision Order should be applied for. We conduct thorough investigations, evaluate risk and safeguarding concerns, and provide clear legal recommendations to the court.
